Who we are
LearnBench (learnbench.ai) is a learning service for adults who want to extend what they already know. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions go to privacy@learnbench.ai.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address and name when you create an account or sign in.
- Learning activity — the goals you set, the text you enter when starting them, your progress, and your answers during sessions. This is the core of the service: it is how LearnBench adapts to you.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, and cookies (see below).
- Notifications — if you install our mobile app and allow notifications, the token your device issues so we can send the reminders you turned on, plus your time zone so they arrive at a sensible hour. Turning notifications off in your device settings ends this.
- Business access requests — if you ask for access to LearnBench for Business, the name, email address, and phone number you submit, plus any calendar or job-post links you choose to include. No account is required for this; we use it only to respond to your request and set up your workspace.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers your in-progress work before you create an account, so nothing is lost when you sign up. We also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use your information
- To provide the service and personalize it to you.
- To save your progress across visits and devices.
- To improve LearnBench and fix problems.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To contact you about your account or important service changes.
- To send the reminders and progress summaries you have turned on. Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and turning them off never affects your account or your saved work.
AI processing
LearnBench uses third-party AI providers to generate your learning content. The goals and answers you submit are sent to those providers to deliver the service. We do not permit them to use your data to train their models where their terms allow us to opt out, and we send only what is needed to build your content.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run LearnBench — hosting, authentication, analytics, email delivery, and the AI providers described above — each bound to use it solely to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when required by law.
If you choose to share a session or goal with someone, the shared page shows only what the share preview displays — never your answers or account details.
LearnBench for Business
If a company invites you to work toward a goal they set, we ask for your consent before anything is shared, and you can decline. While that consent is active, the company can see your email address and your progress on that goal — how far along you are, how you are scoring, how many sessions you have finished, and roughly how much active time you have put in. They never see your individual answers, and never anything outside that goal.
You can stop sharing at any time from Settings. Withdrawing consent immediately ends the company’s access to your progress.
Separately, you may choose to be discoverable by companies looking for people learning in a given area. This is off unless you turn it on. While it is on, a company sees only an anonymous profile — a pseudonym and how closely you match what they are looking for — never your name or email. Those are shared only if a company asks to connect and you accept.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, email privacy@learnbench.ai from the address on the account and we will process the request promptly.
Business access requests are kept while we process them and for our records of the beta. To have yours deleted, email privacy@learnbench.ai from the address you submitted.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted, and we rely on established infrastructure providers for storage and authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
LearnBench is built for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe we have, contact privacy@learnbench.ai and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and the effective date above, and notify account holders of material changes.
